Like Father, Like son

This is a moment that I will treasure forever! Talan loves following daddy around with his lawn mower. Jaeden and I usually sit out back with our bon-bons just to watch this event take place. I'm sure Chad can't wait until this is Talan's weekly chore! I realize that Talan will one day hate this chore, but at that point I will show him how cute he was when he was little and loved it :-) I do have it on video, once I figure out how to post it :-)

Scared you didn't it?

Sneak peak for Halloween! This is Talan and his best buddy, Logan. They had a blast chasing Jaeden and her friend around the house. The louder the girls screamed, the louder the "hulks" got! I know it's early, but we are getting full use out of this costume. The other night we were out eating dinner at our favorite spot...Elmer's of course!! (I know there's Elmer's fans out there!) This is a conversation I had with Talan.
Talan standing up on the bench growling: "I'M THE HULK" (with his fist's clamped)
Me: "Talan you are NOT the hulk, now sit down!" (trying to whisper because I was getting embarrassed!)
Talan: "Yes I am mom!"
Who am I to argue with the HULK?

This one's for you mom!

Earlier this year, May to be exact, we went to visit my family in Oregon. Had a great time together..etc. I never realized how observant Jaeden is..well I actually did but she continues to surprise me. Like all visits Jaeden and Grandma love to spend time together. Usually it's putting on makeup, jumping on the trampoline, or baking cookies, but Jaeden loves whatver time they get together. Needless to say, Jaeden pretty much follows her around the whole trip. Every evening my mom takes a shower before going to bed, then she throws her hair into an updo of some sort. So..a couple of weeks ago, Jaeden got out of the shower and came out with her hair like this and said "look mom, I'm just like grandma Naylor". I knew that my mom would get a kick out of this one, so here's to you mom!

Of course, when Jaeden is being photographed, Talan also thinks he needs his camera time:-). This is Talan doing his Grandma Naylor "after-the-shower" pose.

Cute Tidbits

We have been anxiously talking to Talan and Jaeden about our upcoming trip to Disneyland. Talan is so excited to stay in a hotel and he has been preparing himself by pulling out some of our disney books. His favorite book is Friendship Day starring Pooh Bear & Tigger. However, the cutest thing is that when you ask Talan who they are he says "Root beer and Tiger". Jaeden has started getting irritated by this, and now tries to help him with his pronounciations. It's pretty funny.

Jaeden is also very excited, but she has her Disney characters down! Now that she's in kindergarten she's learning some pretty "big" words(at least she thinks so!). I was doing the dishes one night and Chad and the kids were playing soccer (a nightly routine at our home) in the front room. Jaeden politely yelled "mom, why don't you come and join us?" It was just funny to hear her say it that way. Another...the kids were on our swing set and Jaeden was STANDING on the seat, swinging. I asked her what she was doing and she said "I know mom, this is inappropriate and not proper!". I just laughed. I can't believe she's getting so big and can actually use these words in correct sentences.

Soccer Season

Soccer season has started again! We were dreading the heat, but it's actually not to bad with all of the big trees that provide shade. I asked Jaeden if she was ready to play, and she said throwing her arms down, "Mom, I go to school everyday...and that is all I am doing right now!". Chad & I had a good laugh. But once she was out there and having Chad as her coach, she loved it again! This is Talan in true form at each practice. He LOVES soccer, so each practice he has me put on his soccer socks and cleats! He did get some playing time with the girls this week, but usually he's happy playing with his tractors. Such a boy!

Above, is Talan's elbow freeze position. Chad has them freeze as he calls out different body parts that they have to place on the ball. It's pretty cute and all the girls just giggle!

I HAD to blog this!!! You can see I'm not the only parent that got a laugh out of this (check out the guy in gray). Instead of watching her daughter play soccer, this mom was catching up on her daily excercises! I almost died..it was so funny! She probably wouldn't have thought so if she would have seen me sitting indian style with my camera facing her as I blindly shot away! I hope none of you know her ;-)
