Star Student

Jaeden FINALLY received the star student award last week! She has been waiting all year and her name finally got drawn. I just kept telling her, save the best for last! In earning this award, she gets to have the Independence bear (build-a-bear) come live with us all week. She has taken this bear everywhere with us and sleeps next to it all night. She also had to do a poster and do a write up of their experiences together..I forgot to take a pic! We are so proud of her and love to see her so happy!Jaeden playing "teacher" and explaining her poster to the class. This was probably the best part of her day!!

Field Day

Jaeden had her first field day yesterday and was so excited to get to school! Her class decorated their own shirts, saying "High Five for room 5" with their hand prints all over. They turned out so cute and it was so easy to find them on the field. She says her favorite was when they had to carry cups on their head. Apparently, the cups had holes in them and they had to stop the water from flowing out. Her stories are so much cuter than mine :-) Overall, she had a great time and passed out early at 7:00pm. Too bad Talan couldn't have gone! Instead, we ended up having a bonding evening together. This kid goes and goes and never seems to get tired. Someday he will sleep, right?

Happy Birthday Denise!

My good friend Denise turned a big 3-0 yesterday!!! Yes, she's catching up to me, but I think I am the old maid of the group :-) We planned a girls night out at Cheesecake factory. A group of 5 of us were going to pick her up and then when we got to the restaurant there were secretly about 15 more friends waiting there to surprise her. Well...I showed up at her house and long story short, her cute husband had surprised all of us with a HUGE LIMO!! I say "all" of us, but really it was for her! He made my night though! This was my first limo ride, that's right, I'm no longer a limo virgin!! We were like little school girls on the first day of school. We had the radio cranked up, taking photos, waving at stranger as if we were famous, we even cracked up a pop on the way home! You know how you always wonder who is in those dark limos, well, no need to wonder because we tried to let everyone know :-) It was a great night, thanks Chad and Happy Birthday Denise!! (Not my Chad. Her hubby is Chad too. I know it's like one big family with us mormons) J/K. As Kati says it best, I was honored to be part of the elite, ha,ha!!

AHHHH...now EVERYONE see's where my kids learned the gangsta signs...Denise & Carol!!!

Carol made sure to wear her best shoes for the limo ride. She's our next bachelorette! Can you imagine her stepping out of the limo in those! Definitely would win!

Thanks ladies! It was a blast, who's birthday is next?

A day with daddy!

My hubby has been killing himself lately at work, so it was a nice surprise when he decided to take a day off during Jaeden's spring break. We had a great day with daddy!! We went to lunch at Pei Wei, bowling, Ostrich Festival, and then ended the night with pizza, where the kiddos crashed hard!! It was a long, but fun day. We had so many pictures, so it was best that I did a slideshow. Thanks for a great day daddy! We love you so much!

A boy and his tractors!

I just loved taking these photos! This is Talan to a "T". He loves his tractors and would literally sleep with them if I let him. He loves to spend most of his day outback with his shovels and tractors. I think we should have moved to a farm, he would have been in heaven! Talan seems to go through many phases of different toys as do many children. For example, we have gone through the hulk phase, spiderman, cowboys, guns, toy story characters, cars, monsters, etc(I could go on and on), but I think he will always hold the tractor dear to his heart! ;-)
I am so glad that we have both extremes, a complete "girly girl" and an "all boy!" We have the best of both worlds!

First Tooth!!!

Okay, so I'm REALLY late in blogging this. Jaeden lost her first tooth back in March. I DO have it on my calendar, but I just hadn't blogged it yet!! She actually had to have a little help in getting it out. Her permanent tooth had grown in behind it, so we had no other choice but to have doc pull it out. She did SO good and said the only part that hurt was having the shots. In fact, after she said she wanted to do it again! Well she got her wish...on Tuesday we have to get her other bottom tooth pulled, because of the same situation. I'm hoping all of her teeth aren't like these! Check out the root on this tooth! No wonder why she couldn't get it out herself.

The tooth fairy gave her a whopping 5 bucks for all of her pain and suffering :-) NOT! I wish the tooth fairy was that giving when I was little. Now she's hoping for $20 for her next tooth. Good luck with that!

Spring Break

We had a fun-filled spring break!! We didn't end up going anywhere special, but instead had a special visitor come...GRANDMA!! Chad had a guys week in Vegas, so my mom decided to fly down from Oregon and stayed the last week of spring break with us. We had lots of fun and also spent lots of time with my grandma aka..old grandma as our kids call her! My mom is a sun-freak, so we spent most of everyday doing something outdoors..luckily we had gorgeous weather. We went to the Zoo, swimming, planted flowers, had tea parties, played games, lots of shopping and lots of eating out (My mom was on a diet, so grandma and I enjoyed the good food for her)! It was a great time and the kids enjoyed spending time with her. We wish we could see her more often..hint, hint :-)

4 Generations. Oregano's for dinner,YUM!! Can you believe Talan took this photo??

Grandma and Chris at "Christopher's", amazing & delicious restaurant at the Biltmore.
My kids throwing up signs..always!! I can thank a few of you for that :-) My mom couldn't stop laughing!!

A to Z

Talan is officially getting bigger, despite how long I try to keep him as my baby! He started Apples to Zebras (a preschool class through the city) last week. I could only part with him for a short time, so he only goes Tuesdays and Thursdays for 2 hours. His best buddy Logan is in the class right next door, and his other buddy Carter is in his class! He did very well the first week when I dropped him off, but when I picked him up both days he told me he cried while I was gone. So this week, we had to bribe him with a toy if he didn't cry. It worked!!! So...we'll cross our fingers for next week.
