Cute Tidbits

We have been anxiously talking to Talan and Jaeden about our upcoming trip to Disneyland. Talan is so excited to stay in a hotel and he has been preparing himself by pulling out some of our disney books. His favorite book is Friendship Day starring Pooh Bear & Tigger. However, the cutest thing is that when you ask Talan who they are he says "Root beer and Tiger". Jaeden has started getting irritated by this, and now tries to help him with his pronounciations. It's pretty funny.

Jaeden is also very excited, but she has her Disney characters down! Now that she's in kindergarten she's learning some pretty "big" words(at least she thinks so!). I was doing the dishes one night and Chad and the kids were playing soccer (a nightly routine at our home) in the front room. Jaeden politely yelled "mom, why don't you come and join us?" It was just funny to hear her say it that way. Another...the kids were on our swing set and Jaeden was STANDING on the seat, swinging. I asked her what she was doing and she said "I know mom, this is inappropriate and not proper!". I just laughed. I can't believe she's getting so big and can actually use these words in correct sentences.

Soccer Season

Soccer season has started again! We were dreading the heat, but it's actually not to bad with all of the big trees that provide shade. I asked Jaeden if she was ready to play, and she said throwing her arms down, "Mom, I go to school everyday...and that is all I am doing right now!". Chad & I had a good laugh. But once she was out there and having Chad as her coach, she loved it again! This is Talan in true form at each practice. He LOVES soccer, so each practice he has me put on his soccer socks and cleats! He did get some playing time with the girls this week, but usually he's happy playing with his tractors. Such a boy!

Above, is Talan's elbow freeze position. Chad has them freeze as he calls out different body parts that they have to place on the ball. It's pretty cute and all the girls just giggle!

I HAD to blog this!!! You can see I'm not the only parent that got a laugh out of this (check out the guy in gray). Instead of watching her daughter play soccer, this mom was catching up on her daily excercises! I almost died..it was so funny! She probably wouldn't have thought so if she would have seen me sitting indian style with my camera facing her as I blindly shot away! I hope none of you know her ;-)

Family photos

Thank heaven for friends!!!

A BIG thanks to my wonderful friend Denise for helping me with this blog! I tried to do most of the stuff, but she came in for the "technical" cool things you see :-) I love you girl! Thanks again...I'm addicted!

Kindergarten baby!!

Well it has been a couple of weeks now since Jaeden has started Kindergarten (mom's a little late with the blogging!). Jaeden woke up bright and early at 5:45am, ready for school! She was so excited. Chad, Talan, and myself walked her up to the gated kindergarten playground where she went in to lay her backpack down. As many of you know, Jaeden is relatively shy until you get to know her. So she just stood in line watching the other kids and taking it all in. As we stood behind the gates, it was all I could do to hold back my tears! It seems like just yesterday that I was holding her in my arms..I can remember all the details..it goes so fast! I felt like we were standing behind the prison gates just visiting her (I know horrible thought..but that's how I felt!). As her class went in, we waved goodbye, blew kisses, and the tears started rolling (my tears, not hers!). As you can imagine, I was SO excited to pick her up! I secretly brought my video camera and had it rolling as she got in, hee, hee! I didn't want to miss any details of her 1st day! But because Talan thought he needed to put in his two cents, you couldn't hear much so I turned it off. I think I bombarded her with every question possible, but I still do three weeks later :-) The first week was the hardest, but it's getting easier !

All in all, she loves school and is doing very well. Her teacher says she is eager to please and loves to earn Independence Bucks (she can use at the school store). We are so proud of her!
